Fauna of Uzbekistan
Diverse and unique fauna of Central Asia . Its representatives have adapted to different climatic conditions – from hot summer deserts to the harsh winters in the mountains . On the territory of Central Asia covers over 2.5 million km 2. lives up to 800 species of vertebrates, more than half of which are birds that nest mainly in the deltas of rivers and on shores of lakes. In reservoirs of Central Asia is home to over 100 different species of fish and 9 species of amphibians. In the deserts and desert areas, there are many reptiles, with 79 species. Mammals in Central Asia are 153 species, distributed from hot deserts to the glaciers of the Pamir and Tien Shan . Invertebrates in the fauna of Central Asia presents the richest diversity of insects: arthropods, arachnids, butterflies, etc.
Such a variety of species of wildlife at first glance pleases. But if we analyze the changes in the lives of wildlife that have occurred over the past half century, the resulting picture will not cause much optimism. Because intensive human development activities of the mountains . deserts and river valleys, disappeared from the face of the earth Central Asia species such as the Turan tiger, deer, red wolf. On the verge of extinction, and may already have disappeared, the Persian leopard, the Houbara bustard, striped hyena, markhor – markhor.
In our scientific-technological age problem of wildlife protection is particularly relevant. The man has powerful levers of influence on wildlife. On the one hand, uncontrolled increase in industrial production has a negative impact on all natural components, with another – a scientific approach to conservation may save the situation if will be implemented at the appropriate level.
For the conservation of flora and fauna on the territory of Central Asia created protected territories: reserves, sanctuaries, national parks, specialty nurseries. In the republics of Central Asia established a regional “Red Books”. Legally taking under protection rare species of animals and plants, the Red Book became a kind of alarm about the dangers facing one or another form. Also adopted various legal acts – “Law on nature protection”. But the most important in the preservation of natural components is a single person. Each of us in forces carefully and mindful of wildlife . to teach their children with love and awe to treat each small representative flora and fauna. Protection and restoration of rare and endangered species must always be considered as one of the most important issues.
